Free Art Friday Provided By Art Lab Enid
in conjunction with Main Street Enid "First Friday"
“Free Art Friday” is a project sponsored by Art Lab Enid to help promote the Arts in Enid and surrounding areas.
We’re looking for local artists, craftsmen and freelancers of all mediums to donate between 1 and 5 original pieces of work on provided 4”x4” cradled art boards. These will then be placed all over downtown Enid in random outdoor locations and are free for the taking by the first person who finds them during the “First Friday” activities of April 5th, 2013.
How it will work:
We will provide the 4”x4” cradled wooden boards for each artist to create on or with. If you’re a painter, then paint on them. If you are a photographer, you can adhere your photos to them. If you’re a sculptor, sculpt right on the board or use the board as part of your sculpture. If you make jewelry, then flip the board over and hang your creations on the back like a small shadow box. Whatever you choose to do, please make sure it’s your original art and be sure to keep it family friendly please. Once we have the art in hand we will place all these crazy creative creations around the downtown square area with a small card attached to each containing info on the project, your contact info and encouraging people to take one home!
Here’s what we need from the artists:
First and foremost, we need your talent! Secondly, we would really appreciate if all participating artists would be so kind as to drop us a quick email ASAP letting us know they want to participate at faf@artlabenid.com. We plan on creating a web gallery on the Art Lab Enid web site of all the pieces provided for interested folks to preview. For that we will need a web ready photo of each piece individually that you are donating. You will need to email those images to faf@artlabenid.com along with the artists name, medium, and title of each piece. We will also need any other additional contact information you would like associated with your work, web site address, email contact, web store link, Facebook page, etc. Each artist will have their work displayed online in the gallery with these photos and links in order to promote not only the event but the artists themselves.
The deadline for art delivery is February 24th. We need the images and info emailed to faf@artlabenid.com by the same date in order to get all the associated web coding done within the next week. Please keep this date in mind!
What's in it for the artists?

This is a chance at exposing your art to folks who might not normally get exposure to your work. And, you go away with the satisfying knowledge that you’ve most certainly improved the home décor of countless individuals in the Enid area!
Important dates:
ASAP - Confirm your participation in the event by emailing faf@artlabenid.com.
This will give us an estimate of participants and the time to order the boards.
December 28th - We are planning on having the boards ready for artists by this date. This will give artists almost 2 months to get their projects finished and returned to us.
March 29th – Deadline for art and emailed entries!
April 5st – Free Art Friday!
May 3rd – Tentative weather delay Free Art Friday (if needed).
All participating artists will be kept up to date on the project by email as we move forward.
